How Long Does a Disposable Vape Pen Last?
May 02, 2022 3 min read
Disposable vape pens are fantastic ways to get great-tasting nicotine delivery without old-school cigarettes (and their related risks!) or the mess, expense, and fuss of reusable/refillable vapes. But how long do vape pens last? Easy…it depends! I know, you’re looking for a really simple answer, like a number showing you exactly how many hours or days it’ll last. Unfortunately, it’s not quite that cut and dry.
Disposable vape pens are just that—disposable. Sure, there are options like rechargeable or refillable vape pens. But disposable pens are ready to go straight out of the box with no charging, filling, or assembling needed. You select the disposable pen in the puff count and flavor you want, vape it, and toss it when you’re done. It literally couldn’t be any easier to use and enjoy.
Disposable vape pens, just like refillable ones, have a couple of major components: batteries and e-liquid. These two components have a big influence on how long disposable vaporizers last. The e-liquid is the substance you’re vaping—just synthetic nicotine and flavor. The battery is necessary to run the internal heating element that converts the e-liquid into the vapor you inhale. Ideally, the battery will last long enough to vaporize the amount of e-liquid in the disposable vape.
Okay, so the battery and e-liquid should match. Got it. That makes sense. So how long should a vape pen last?
Puff Count: What it Means and Why it Matters
Hang on, there’s more. How long a vape pen lasts is directly related to the puff count. Because you’re buying a disposable, the vaping device you get will have a “puff count.” This is the number of puffs, draws, or inhalations the average person can expect to get out of the device.
The industry estimates approximately 300 puffs of a vape equals a traditional 20-count pack of cigarettes. That means a 300 puff count vape should last about as long as a pack of cigarettes would last you.
But just like a cigarette, the length of your draw matters as well. If you take a short puff, the device will last longer than if every draw is 2 seconds. Chain vaping also significantly reduces the puff count. If you do this, the excess heat could cause the battery to drain more quickly and the heating coil to consume more e-liquid than it would normally.
Frequency Matters
Speaking of chain vaping, how frequently you vape directly impacts how long a disposable vape pen lasts. If you’re vaping all day long, you’ll burn through your vape pen quickly. If you take a couple of puffs on your way to work or after a long day in the evenings, it’ll last longer.
Just like with cigarettes, if you smoke a pack a day versus a pack in three days, it’s the same count. But how long it lasts changes. That’s why there’s no easy, magic number. Every vaper is unique and different, so how (and how often) you use it, determines how long a disposable vape lasts.
Quality Matters: You Get What You Pay For
There is one thing you can definitely do to make sure the disposable vape pen lasts the puff count predicted. Buy a quality product. Don’t skimp! You should buy a vape for the mouthfeel, flavor, in-lung experience, and exhalation of the cloud. Buy it for the experience, the relaxation, and the ritual.
If you buy cheap shit, you’re going to have a lousy experience. The liquid will run out of flavor, the battery will die before the liquid is gone, or the liquid will be gone before the battery life runs out. No matter which of these happens, you’re going to be frustrated, disappointed, or angry. And that’s pretty much the opposite of what vaping should feel like.
Once you decide the puff count you think is right for you, whether it’s 300, 800, 1500, or even 2500, find the flavor or flavors you love. Mix it up and buy a variety. Or, if you find one that is perfect for you, buy a pack so you never run out.
Whatever puff count or flavor combination you choose, make sure your disposable vape pen lasts as long as it should and choose IGNITE. Don’t settle. Don’t compromise.
